Rodney is a native of Nebraska. He grew up in Phillips, Nebraska. He graduated from Aurora High School in 1981. Rod graduated from Doane College in 1985 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Accounting. He graduated with honors from Creighton University Law School in 1991 with his juris
doctor degree.
He received his professional licensing in 1991 and began as an associate in a small law firm where he concentrated on business and planning law. In 1995, Rod started his own
practice, where he emphasized estate planning. He has gained great knowledge, experience and wisdom with his associations through the years with various organizations, including the National
Network of Estate Planning Attorneys, Lifespan and The Estate Plan.
Professional Associations & Memberships
Rod is currently an Independent Representative of The Estate Plan, a National Company formed in 1982 by Henry W. Abts
III to assist legal and financial professionals by providing comprehensive and updated estate planning resources to best serve their clients needs. He has served on the Advisory Board and the
Attorney Advisory Board for The Estate Plan.
Rod is also a member of Kingdom Advisors, an organization whose mission is to engage, equip, and empower
Christian financial advisors to communicate Biblical wisdom to their clients, apply professional principles in their practices, and live out their faith in their marketplace for Kingdom impact.
Rod wrote a monthly article on wealth transfer planning and related subjects in The Country Lanes Magazine from September 2002 until December, 2007. You

Omaha Wealth Transfer Planning Lawyer
Today, Rod’s practice includes a wide array of areas all associated around wealth transfer planning. It could include a simple estate plan with a will, healthcare and financial powers of attorney and a living will for a young couple or individual. It may be the most versatile and most popular wealth transfer plan which features the revocable living trust tailored to the needs of the client. Or it could be any number of more sophisticated plans which meets the specific needs of the client such as: long-term wealth transfer planning related to Medicaid, charitable trusts, irrevocable trusts or special needs trusts for special needs children or adults.
Personal
Rod and his wife Kim live in Omaha, Nebraska. They have two children, Stephanie age 15 and Jonathan age 10. He is a member of the Community Covenant Church where he is actively involved in various ministries. Rod is currently serving on the Church Council, the Financial Management Team as the Reporting Secretary, the Stewardship Chairman, and on the Men’s Ministry advisory team. Rod coaches YMCA soccer, MAA football and MSWC
wrestling. He has just completed serving for five years as the committee chair for a local Cub Scout pack.
